Moved to Las Vegas and the dry winter is not too friendly on me at night... I've be told a humidifier would help at hours of darkness - but not sure if a cold or warm one would work better. we bought the regular cold one from cvs when we moved to vegas. it worked great.
Cold humidifiers are great where on earth babies and/or small children may be able to gain to them because there is no scalding trouble from the hot water or steam. However, the stipulation to be sterilized routinely because bacteria will grow and may be ejected within the water vapor.
Hot humidifiers boil the river so there is no germs problem, but they are not safe for use around children.
